Staff has developed a phasing plan for community-wide sewer line extensions. Estimated costs of extending sewer lines throughout the Community including Amizette are just over $2,000,000. We have over four miles of sewer line to install with almost 70 manholes according to the plan.

Phase 1- Zap’s Road (Porcupine Road)/Cliffhanger Loop/ Phoenix Switchback

Staff is recommending that this be Phase 1 of the Sewer Line extension project commencing in summer of 2005. There are three smaller sections included with this phase including extensions along Cliffhanger, Phoenix Switchback and Cliffhanger Loop. Currently, there is a 3" sewer line along Porcupine Drive servicing a small number of homes in this area. The 3" line cannot accept solids. Staff recommends upgrading this line to a 6" line allowing for acceptance of solids negating any future use of septic tanks for solid material. There would be three easements needed to complete the Porcupine/Twining section of this phase. This phase also includes additional manholes on the Interceptor Line. This sewer line extension section in depicted in red on the maps.

Completion of Phase 3 is predicated upon the Village completing Phase 2. There are no known easement needed at this point as the sewer lines will be installed in Village right-of-way. Project could occur in 2005 or 2006 dependent upon funding options.
